Radiance | Biographies

Sal DiFusco - Guitar and Vocals
Sal has had an extensive 30 year experience in writing, recording and performing with many world class artists including Grammy Award winning artist “Speech” from Arrested Development, Grammy Nominee Susan Tedeski, Terry Lynn Carrington and Peter Erskine. Sal has toured the world performing original music in the categories of jazz, rock, funk and fusion, with favorable reviews by top national entertainment magazines. Sal has recorded two solo records and has performed his original music in countries including Russia, France, Hungary and Albania and has performed in 22 states in the U.S in cities that include Boston, New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles. Sal makes his home in Boston and has worked in various general business bands and is currently serving as an assistant Professor at the Berklee College of Music.

Tom Foote - Drums
Tom began his studies under scholarship at Shepherd College and moved on to study privately at the Berklee College of Music. However, he got most of his training playing clubs in New York City and at the world-renowned Drummer's Collective. He has played clubs that seat 180 to stadiums with 18,000 people (Fleet Center/Great Woods/Madison Square Garden/Rose Bowl). His was highly sought after for pit orchestra gigs including; Fiddler on the Roof, Damn Yankees, Jesus Christ Superstar and many others. He got the drum chair for EKE and went on a Yamaha promotional tour. While in New York City, he played in several bands and did studio work. He was then was asked to join Evelyn "Champagne" King (Shame/Love Come Down) for her comeback tour. Tom is featured on several CD's and is currently endorsed by Cappella Drumsticks.

Wayne Naus - Trumpet
Wayne is an accomplished trumpet player and arranger and has toured and recorded with some of the finest musicians this world has to offer. Some of his concert tours and recordings include; the “Arturo Sandoval’s Hot House Big Band”, the “Maynard Ferguson Orchestra”, the “Buddy Rich Orchestra” and the “Lionel Hampton Orchestra.  He has served as a Professor at the Berklee College of Music for the last 27 years where he has currently released his first publication called “Beyond Functional Harmony” published by Advance Music. Wayne also loves to write, arrange and record his own original music which he has done with his own solo projects including “Heart and Fire” and “Moksha”. Wayne has had the privilege of performing the National Anthem at Fenway Park before a Red Sox game in 2002.   

Tim Butterworth - Keyboards
Tim Butterworth is a 22-year-old keyboardist from Cape Elizabeth, Maine.  Having studied piano since the age of 10, he is a scholarship student at the Berklee College Of Music.  He has performed with the Berklee Tower of Power ensemble for 3 years, and has performed with  numerous bands in the New England area, such as the Matt Chase Group, Bill Chinnock, and Soul City.  He is scheduled to finish his Berklee career in May, and looks forward to a long and exciting musical career. 

Pat Loomis - Saxophone and Vocals
Boston-based saxophonist and vocalist Pat Loomis has quickly established himself as one of the most sought-after musicians in the areas of Jazz and R&B in the New England region. Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Seattle, Washington, Pat began his professional career in the Pacific Northwest before coming back East to attend the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Boston from 1988-92. Since then, Pat has performed with such jazz stars as Wynton Marsalis, Grover Washington, Jr., Diana Krall, Joshua Redman, Roy Hargrove, Paquito D' Rivera, and Arturo Sandoval, as well as pop and R&B giants Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, and Phil Collins. He has also performed at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Boston Globe Jazz and Blues Festival numerous times and has toured the U.S., Europe, Russia, and Japan. Pat's first CD release " T.B.S." has received much radio airplay on WGBH-FM and WERS-FM and he has a new CD recording slated for release later this year.

Joe Santerre - Electric Bass
Bassist Joe Santerre has been featured with many world class performers. He has written books on the art of Bass playing and is an extraordinary teacher and composer. Jessica Mellott - Vocals
Jessica Mellott is a pop/rock singer, songwriter and actress from Maryland, with an incredible vocal range and beautiful tone. The 2006 Los Angeles Music Awards Pop Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year began her vocal instruction when she was only five years old.  Her training includes classical music, jazz, musical theater and contemporary pop.

Jessica’s extensive gigging experience includes a variety of venues; the Hard Rock Cafe, Walter Reed Medical Center, Warner Theater, Boston College Club, Hyannisport Golf Club, Renaissance Boston, Mandarin Oriental Hotel and many more.

Jessica has worked with many talented musicians including Jimmy Greenspoon of the legendary band Three Dog Night, Emmy Award winning Brad Hatfield of the Boston Pops, J. Geils, and others.

A Maryland Scholar for both vocals and academics, Jessica attends Berklee College of Music where she will be graduating a year early in May 2010.

Danny McClain - Vocals
And last but not least, Vocalist Danny McClain. Danny is an outstanding singer, performer and musician. He truly lights up any stage when he enters it. He has performed with world-class artists and has been featured several times at the Berklee Singers showcase. His performance makes a great impact and his vocal ability is awe-inspiring!
